Scott..

I had been looking for software that would manage switching between a
wired network and a wireless AP using WPA encryption. Checking the
forums a number of postings suggested that NetworkManager could do this.
Prior to installing NetworkManager there had never been an issue
resuming from a suspended laptop state. However, after installing
NetworkManager I noticed that while the laptop was resuming, and
NetworkManager was searching for the AP (it's graphic changed to the two
dots with the circling line), I've had about half a dozen times where at
that point X was frozen (i.e. you could move the mouse and the cursor
would move but you couldn't click on anything; further, the graphic for
NetworkManager never changed to the signal level graphic).

This never occurred prior to installing NetworkManager and seems to
happen after the laptop goes through several suspend/resume cycles.
However, it hasn't happened for a while now (last time I can recall was
3-4 weeks ago). I can't remember if there have been any updates to
NetworkManager or any of it's dependencies since the original
installation (I usually check for updates once a week and the
auto-update feature is enabled).
