Public bug reported:
A lot of thinkpad users have problems with some sort of high pitch noise
(see http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_high_pitch_noises ).
There is a patch and some ongoing discussion about that noise in general

Perhaps this patch should be applied to ubuntus current kernel to avoid
that noise.
