Public bug reported:

When I try to run Wine, it starts working (the icon is jumping), and
then the system freezes. Even NumLock doesn't respond, and the onyl way
to get out of there is a cold restart. I reported this to Wine, and they
suggested that the problem is with my video adapter. Eventually, they
declared that the problem is with my distro.

OS: Kubuntu 7.10 x86
GPU: VIA UniChrome KM266Pro, onboard chip at ASRock K7VM3 motherboard.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
