As mentioned in the other bug report the used driver is logged in the
file /var/log/Xorg.0.log. The plan is an xorg.conf free X where is no
need for dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg I guess.
I guess this is a duplicate of Bug #144641. With displayconfig-gtk it is
still possible to change the xorg.conf monitor settings while in future
gnome-screen-resolution is the preferred app I guess.
