I think I've got it. /etc/nsswitch.conf has the following line in it:
hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns mdns4 I swapped it for this line, getting rid of the 'mdns4' records: hosts: files dns [NOTFOUND=return] After this and a 'sudo /etc/inet.d/networking restart' the domain join CLI command worked (haven't tried the gui yet). What about removing an Ubuntu box from a domain? is this possible? -- Domain Join doesn't work on Hardy Heron 8.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196809 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
