I tested on Ubuntu hardy OpenOffice.org 2.4.0~rc2 and the background
color isn't visible but you can tell if eg Bold button is depressed. I
didn't see an option for View->Color/Grey->Color though. Did you mean
off the main View menu, or somewhere else?
