Hi, I've been struggling with this issue until I found out in another post that Linux had been complaining about IRQ port clash. So, I remembered that in old pc's with Windows, if you set IRQ of the modem to the same value as the mouse, both modem and mouse would be fighting to get cpu's attention and that's why I think it's happening here.
I removed my mouse from PS2 port and it has been plugged in a USB port and Internet don't woes since then.
