This test: Hardy Alpha5 (i386)
Installation from the LiveCD's install icon on the desktop.
I can confirm this bug.
Ubuntu plays its fanfares (login/startup melody) several times during
the installation process. The progress bar shows exactly the same values
(5%, 87% and 94%) as mensioned by @Glenn Vording above.
Sound card of this PC is:
$ lspci | grep -i audio
