Applet is essential for following reasons: 1) It lets the user know what is going on and warns about indexing and how to configure and turn it off if they desire
2) it can pause tracker - both manually and automatically to prevent machine slowdowns. Svn version can auto pause whenever you move mouse or press a key 3) it provides status and progress feedback (latest svn version uses a tooltip for this) 4) provides convenience menu for common actions (search/prefs/stats etc) there are options to hide or not animate it in latest svn too -- Don't ship with tracker's Applet enabled by default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184240 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
