I know a few weeks back siretart had a new ffmpeg staged and ready to
upload, but I don't know exactly what happened on the progress of that.
Now that we've hit Feature Freeze, I don't know if anyone on the team is
confident enough to upload a new ffmpeg and be accountable for any
possible regressions. Most of the team is familiar with the fact that
the FFMPEG folks don't do releases, and I agree that we probably
should've snapshotted a new release earlier on in the development cycle,
but so much builds on ffmpeg that I personally would not be comfortable
with introducing a new version of ffmpeg at this point in the release
cycle unless it's been thoroughly tested already.

Which is why, we go back again, to siretart's staged upload. I'll try to
ping him to respond on this.
