Public bug reported:
On a Dell Latitude D820, the 2.6.24-8-generic image fails to boot, with
the splash bar going back and forth forever. switching to VT1 shows
"Loading, please wait...". Booting in rescue mode goes for a short
while, and then halts with the last mesesage being "clocksource tsc
unstable", right after "waiting for boot device". the -386 image boots
fine, and gutsy kernel booted fine as well.
