Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: sudo
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)"
sudo 1.6.9p10-1ubuntu2
When working in a terminal and attempting to do anything which requires
root access, sudo will become completely unresponsive.
For instance:
prompt:~$ sudo apt-get update
produces absolutely no output. It does not prompt for the sudo password,
does not give an error, just hangs. A screenshot is attached for
reference.
This has been an intermittent issue (usually correcting itself after a
system restart), but so far I have restarted five or six times, and I am
still encountering this.
** Affects: sudo (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Incomplete
