Public bug reported:
when I put my kubuntu LiveCD in my cd-rom it boots as normal and when I select
the option to "Start or Install Kubuntu" the GUI won't start , kdm is
initialised and I am left with a shell like this
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
If I start in safe mode my pc starts to beep like crazy and it gets scary.
I have a very new system which may be why it doesn't run:
Nvidia GeForce 8800GT
Asus P5N-T Deluxe, which is the Nvidia 780i motherboard
Intel Core 2 duo E6750
However if it was a driver problem of the linux kernel not supporting the
hardware, here is an interesting thing.
I managed to install suse 10.2 perfectly. There was no trouble at all.
