Public bug reported:
This is on a machine that was installed as a server, and later upgraded
with X. But X was running fine on breezy.
So I edited sources.list and replaced breezy with edgy and ran "apt-get
update; apt-get upgrade". Things seemed to be working fine, so I tried
rebooting, and X didn't start.
I looked at the output from the upgrade, and it seemed to have kept back
a number of xorg packages, so I installed those by hand. X still didn't
start. The error message said I wasn't configured right, so I tried
several dpg --configure commands, none of which did anything useful.
Finally, I noticed that xserver-xorg wasn't installed. So I did "apt-
get install xserver-xorg", and everything seems to be fine now.
So I don't know exactly what the bug is, but it certainly wasn't a
smooth upgrade.
