I'm using synaptics, and that one also adds the 386 image :-) only aptitude does not...
About the remaining bug... I have now removed the WPA from my wireless, and it is still hidden. I can now connect to it. As soon as I turn WPA-PSK with TKIP encryption it will not connect anymore.
