Public bug reported: o HP LaserJet 1020 plugged into USB port
o system recognizes printer and installs/sets-up for printer o no default printer is setup o .ps and .pdf files sent to printer are not printed, but are removed from print queue after the system thinks they have printed o using kubuntu 8.04 alpha6 and updates applied before printer setup I am willing to reinstall system from scratch to reproduce again, if details needed for debugging purposes. After setting up as default printer, here is the output from "lpstat -t" [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lpstat -t scheduler is running system default destination: HP_LaserJet_1020 device for HP_LaserJet_1020: hp:/usb/HP_LaserJet_1020?serial=JL29QKA device for PDF: cups-pdf:/ HP_LaserJet_1020 accepting requests since Sat 08 Mar 2008 01:04:14 AM MST PDF accepting requests since Thu 06 Mar 2008 12:04:36 AM MST printer HP_LaserJet_1020 is idle. enabled since Sat 08 Mar 2008 01:04:14 AM MST printer PDF is idle. enabled since Thu 06 Mar 2008 12:04:36 AM MST [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ output from "cat /etc/lsb-release" yields [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/ngspice_tutorial_new$ cat /etc/lsb-release DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)" I hope this helps and I am looking forward to April release of 8.04 Thanks in advance, Chuck ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Hardy] alpha6 8.04 hp laserjet 1020 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199864 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
