Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk

With the updates a few weeks back (new xorg?) my monitor is no longer
detected correctly and I cannot set the correct resolution. My Dell
2005FPW is detected as "plug & Play" and when I change it to a the
2005FPW (widescreen checked) I choose 1680x1050 and 75hz and hit apply.
I get a message saying every user has to log out before the setting can
be applied so I do.

Upon reboot I'm stuck in 800x600. Going back to the screens and
monitors applet results in the 1680x1050 resolution no longer showing up
in the list. When I try to choose another monitor and then switch back
just to reset things, the program crashes. I have probably uploaded 50
crash reports already.

The best resolution I can manage is 1280X1024(and it doesn't require
logging out, it just switches)

So, please let me know what other info is needed so this can be fixed.

Chipset: intel 915
OS: hardy alpha 6
