Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: debian-installer

I'm trying to update to hardy to see if the network issues from 7.10 are
fixed. I'm currently running dual boot with a prt. for windows, a prt.
for ubuntu and a NTFS prt for media etc. However when I am going through
the install process I get the partition manager, options are "Guided
(250GB ATA Use whole disc)" and "manual" I DON'T want to use the whole
disc so I try manual but when I select the ext3 prt. it says I have no
root filesystem selected. I tried formating that partition and it had
the same problem. I tried guided but it went straight to getting my
info for the install so I was worried it would clean the whole drive.

As a newcomer to ubuntu I need to be able install this to a specific
partition and KNOW the installer will be contained to that partition.

** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
