Public bug reported: Ubuntu 7.10 - the Gutsy Gibbon - released in October 2007.
Ubuntu 7.10 does not recognize my Western Digital 160GB hard drive in the Ultra hard drive enclosure. The Ultra works fine with version 6.06, and Windows 98SE. Gusty, and Dapper, both see my Western Digital 120GB USB external hard drive, and any of the USB Flash drives I plug in. Also, neither Gusty or Dapper see my WD Passport hard drive. I got a copy of Kubuntu 7.10, and the same is true there. Yet it worked fine with Ubuntu version 6.06. It also worked with Linspire 5.0, as well as Windows XP. I am still using the Ultras with Windows 98SE.
