If it helps, this laptop model is in the hp dv6500 series and this
specific model's specifications are attached (sorry for the messy data
alignment).

I recently tried the latest version of alsa, 1.0.16. Also tried 1.0.16rc2 and
1.0.15. None of them worked.
I tried the following script after each one:

#!/bin/sh
#for after reboot
cp -v /lib/modules/2.6.22-*/kernel/sound/pci/hda/snd-hda-intel.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.22-*/ubuntu/media/snd-hda-intel/snd-hda-intel.ko
cp -v /usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver*/modules/* /lib/modules/2.6.22-*/kernel/sound/
depmod -a
#end of alsa_2

Also I tried the backport:
sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-generic

And I tried:
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop, and 3stack, and hp and s-stack and acer.

No sound yet.

If I need to start fresh with ubuntu, if that is necessary to find a
solution then I can install a new ubuntu on an external harddisk to try
that, since I've already installed and modified this ubuntu twice and
that I dont want to go through it the third time.

Also something weird happened while I was trying to make my sound work: when I
set my computer to restart, it stopped responding, and when I manually shut it
down using the power button and turned it back on, my computer was just a blank
screen. I retried a couple of times but my computer would be just blank until I
removed the batter from my laptop so that it finally came up with my grub menu.
Weird and got me freaked there for that time. Also before the system went
blank, I had pressed the mouse lock button, when the pressed it again to unlock
it, the mouse didnt work, the the keyboard stopped working. Though the mouse
lock button doesnt normally give me problems, like I am using it right now.
