right, i am also a subscribe to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/200338
However, one think i know: it is a bug every time you see any "segmentation fault" in any stand alone application. An stand alone application like pidgin should not suppose that there is no bug in alsa that can cause alsa not to detect the sound card. It is wel known that alsa does not support all sound cards... Pidgin/GStreamer should show up a popup window informing the user about that there is no sound card or at least do nothing and continue running without playing any sound. It is however a minor bug with less importance, but it is a confirmed bug (hapends all the time after a few seconds after connection). It is solved by clicking silent mode in pidgin or by installing a "good working alsa". -- pidgin crash with GStreamer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199910 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
