Thanks for the bug report.
Since you are still able to get to a console when this happens, could
you please attach some logs from a failed boot attempt?
logs to attach:
/var/log/kern.log
/var/log/syslog
/var/log/xorg.0.log
output of dmesg ("dmesg > dmesg.log" in terminal)
