Public bug reported:

I would run squid3 with winbind.

To use winbind with squid3, I have added the squid user (proxy) in the
secondary group winbindd_priv.
Now, have the user proxy read right on the folder
/var/run/samba/winbindd_privileged.
Unfortunately, I still get this error message "Ensure permissions on
/var/run/samba/winbindd_privileged are set correctly."

When I change the permisson on the directory
/var/run/samba/winbindd_privileged to group proxy. It run wihout
problems. But this workaround is not that waht I would.

I have detect this text in a forum:
In squid, you do *not* specify the effective group id, instead you
Ensure the primary and supplementary groups for squid are squid
(Primary) and winbind_priv (secondary). At startup, will Squid
Initgroups() to get the right privileges.

The problem is now that Unbuntu set the value cache_effective_group already as
default on the group proxy.
For this reason, this problem arises.

Could the Ubuntu team fix this problem?
