Public bug reported: Binary package hint: e2fsprogs
Whenever modifying an ext3 file system with tune2fs on the current Hardy Alpha, I get the following message on next boot: "primary superblock features different from backup superblock" Then fsck is forced on the file system. This has been confirmed (see Debian Bug: #454926) and fixed in E2fsprogs 1.40.4 (http://e2fsprogs.sourceforge.net/e2fsprogs-release.html#1.40.4). The newest currently availabe version from upstream is 1.40.7 (http://e2fsprogs.sourceforge.net/e2fsprogs-release.html#1.40.7 ; also available in Debian unstable) and fixes numerous other issues. Perhaps e2fsprogs should be upgraded for Hardy? ** Affects: e2fsprogs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: e2fsprogs (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #454926 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=454926 ** Also affects: e2fsprogs (Debian) via http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=454926 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Description changed: Binary package hint: e2fsprogs Whenever modifying an ext3 file system with tune2fs on the current Hardy Alpha, I get the following message on next boot: "primary superblock features different from backup superblock" Then fsck is forced on the file system.
