Hi people.
I tried geexbox (is that a gee , Xbox :-).
Works really nice, but I think it don't use X11, (framebuffer maybe).
The following option worked for me: [1]
Option "NoYV12" "true" # or "yes"
Done ! No more purple bar (at _right_(!) of the video).
In the device section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 630/730 PCI/AGP VGA Di
Driver "sis"
BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
Option "NoYV12" "true"
EndSection
MPlayer output:

VCD- works, full screen , no purple bar.
DVD - slow (not sure about my DVD player reliability) . Maybe playing with
zoom / scale /sound options of mplayer can make it work (or upgrade my memory ,
128M is no fun :-).
