Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: adept

I installed Kubuntu 7.10 (downloaded the live cd-rom around the time
when it first came out) on my laptop and tried to update with
adpet_manager. During the update adept hangs (also happens in
adept_updater), is says something like:

There was a problem downloading or the update will break some packages (as
translated form dutch, so it probably said something else in english)
(by the way, it happened during the configuring of tha packages, not during the
download)

After this It is impossible to open adept, it says that it can not get
exclusive deblockking options or someting like that. The reason it gives
is that probably some other program (adept, apt or aptitude) is using
this. You get a menu where you can choose between letting the software
solve the problem for you (which hangs adept), cancel or open adpet in
read-only mode.

I tried updating package by package and found it happened when i updated either
the python, or the qt4.
Next I tried updating first everything concerned with python (exept the
python-qt4) and later the qt4, and then the python-qt4-package and I had no
problem...
Then again, when i later tried to update libqt3-mt it gave the same error again
and afterwards it gave this error on everything i tried to update...

I hope this information helps

Greetings,
Bas
