Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pm-utils

pm-utils are terrible at all. Unfortunately, hal depends on them. Why
the hell all the parts in /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/* and /usr/lib/pm-
utils/sleep.d/* are not customizable?

E.g.:
- /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/sched-powersave
it is *NOT* energy efficient to enable multicore power savings on current
CPUs but there is no way how to correctly disable it.
- /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/laptop-tools
I want to use my own powersave setting for caches. How can I do that if the
values are hard coded in the script that gets overwritten in the next upgrade?
- /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/94cpufreq
This script does not correctly restore my tweaks of ondemand governor. How can
I avoid touching cpufreq governors?

(pm-utils: 0.99.2-3ubuntu1, ubuntu - hardy)

** Affects: pm-utils (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

pm-utils need much larger customization to be usable
