Hi, I tested in Hardy
'remove' and 'move to trash' only work in partition where you have your user
home

if you have two partitions and your home is /home/user:
    /dev/sda1 mounted and /home
    /dev/sda2 mounted and /

Then files in /home/user/music:

- 'move to trash' delete file from hard disk
  (the file appears in Missing Files Library to remove it but isn't at harddisk
now)
- 'remove' delete file from library but it's still in hard disk (but isn't
shown at Music Library)
  the next time load, the file is shown
Files in /usr/local/music nothing is delete

If change your user home to /usr/local/Users/user, then work like I
described below

...and this is another bug ? is switched behavior of 'move to trash' and
'remove'?

** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu)
       Status: Incomplete => Confirmed
