I have an SVG flowchart and a howto which is now obsolete but newer that the howto in the community docs.
We do several each week, all based on the tarballs from drupal.org. I have done successful installs of the Ubuntu/Debian packages but I don't recommend it. There is a reference install at drupal5.ls.net, and some docs on ls.net.
