My touchpad does not work in ubuntu 8.04 alpha 5. I found the following
in Xorg.0.log
(II) evaluating device (Synaptics Touchpad)

(--) Synaptics Touchpad touchpad found
qsynaptics and gsynaptics both have no problems but still the touchpad
does not respond at all.
