I can confirm that bad behaviour. The first time I changed to static IP, the connection did immediately fail, but I managed to resolve reconfiguring it. However, every time I reboot I have to reconfigure to dhcp and back to static IP to get it working. Using Hardy from alpha6 updated, arch i386 (AMD Athlon XP 1800+).
