I can confirm this on 7.10 w/latest. Might be a duplicate of bug #163544, where I originally posted. If not, I'm posting here, too :-)
It was working fine, and then suddenly stopped returning any results whatsoever. Killall trackerd and restarting the process via terminal restored functionality immediately. Potential contributors: 1) Deskbar crashes regularly 2) I've installed a 3rd party Thunderbird extension to have tracker index Thunderbird e-mail until it is officially supported in tracker-proper. However, tracker was working fine for the longest time with this extension installed and working. Both of them stopped working together, so I had to restart each separately. 3) I haven't restarted/shut down the computer for weeks. It has gone through dozens of suspend/hibernate and resume cycles, so there might have been an issue there. I say #3 above because I realize that every suspend/hibernate and resume cycle is unique. Some are a bit buggy, some are perfect. Of the ones that are buggy, there are only a few consistent bugs and several seemingly-random bugs. This might be one of them. -- Tracker suddenly loses ability to find anything until restarted https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200723 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
