I tried Hardy alpha 6 LiveCD. The side button is recognized by xev by default
now. Horizontal scroll still gives no output in xev.
Unfortunately, the mouse as well as the touchpad are barely usable during the
LiveCD session as the cursor is stuttering all the time.
