Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: acpi-support
My system is a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A7645 Notebook with an Kubuntu 8.04
(Hardy) installed.
With the update from acpi-support (0.105) to acpi-support (0.106) my Notebook
lost the ability for resume from SuspendToRAM. The suspend looks normal, but
when I resume, I get vertical colored lines, but no unlock
window. If I press then a few keys, the Caps-Lock and the Scroll-Lock LED start
blinking. Then only a hard reset helps.
Now i have downgraded the acpi-support package to the 0.105 version and
it works now again. Well not all drivers (especially the Ethernet and
WLAN driver) come back but the powerconsumption is reduced to 1 Watt
(like in Windows XP) and it comes back.
Strange colors after resume are also with the 0.105 Version, but if I
move the mouse the unlock window comes in front and I can unlock the
screen and work along.
