Check to verify it is installed by going to:
Tools->Options->Language Settings->Languages make sure there is a blue
checkmark with ABC next to it for the language you have selected
if it isn't there then File->Wizards->Install new dictionaries
if it is there then check this setting also:
Tools->Options->Language Settings->Writing Aids and make sure the
spellcheck options are enabled.
