Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. To give us a better idea
of what caused the problem could you please attach the log files found
in /var/log/dist-upgrade.
Also could we just clarify the steps you took when the problem occurred so we
can try to reproduce it.
So:
You installed Kubuntu, from an install CD?
Then after completing the installation you installed the available updates. How
did you do this, by clicking on the update icon in the system tray, from the
commandline?
Did you receive any error messages at this point, if so what were they?
You were then prompted to install a new version of Kubuntu. I'm assuming you
clicked the button to install and followed the prompted instructions. If you
can reproduce the error could you give us the exact text of the error message
Is this roughly what happened, if I've got it wrong please specify what
did happen. The more detail we can get the better, the log files are the
most important thing.
Sorry for the flurry of questions. We just need the information to find
the cause of the problem.
