thanks for taking the time to report this bug. This is actually an
occurrence of a known issue (bug 48627) that is being worked on. I will
mark this report as a duplicate and you can follow developments in the
other thread. In the short term running the following command should
solve your problem:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
this tells dpkg to configure the remaining packages that were
interrupted and should then release the database lock.
