Public bug reported:
This bug was in the upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy, but seems to appeared
again the most recently Alpha 6 of Hardy when upgrading from Gutsy. My
compiz settings are lost to the default settings (this includes my Cube
plugins being disabled for the Desktop Wall plugin) and the "Advanced
Desktop Effects" (compizconfig) menu item being hidden in my Preferences
menu, but it was not hidden before the upgrade. The "Custom" option has
also been removed from the Appearances applet, which makes it difficult
to disable compositing effects while playing games because the only
option is "Best" which seems to erase my settings again.
