I am using Hardy 64. I have over 30 themes installed, that I carry over to each Linux install. I couldn't trace it to any one theme, however it corrected itself after I started deleting some that I don't use anymore.
If I get the bug again I will attach the xsession-errors. Unfortunately I don't have easy steps to reproduce the problem, but these points should do it. First of all, I don't install themes by dragging to the appearance manager. I download all my themes from gnome-look.org, then I extract them and copy them to /usr/share/themes, that way the theme carries over to administrative applications as well. So in short, copying a bunch of extracted theme folders to /usr/share/themes is what I do. This has been the way I've been doing this for years now, and it's always worked.
