Public bug reported:

I am using Xfce on my ThinkPad Z60m
(http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:Z60m). This model has two sets
of mouse buttons: two below the touchpad, and three above the touchpad
(meant to be used with the stick control in the middle of hte keyboard).

The set of three buttons above the touchpad do not work when I first
boot the computer. After some delay (I'm unsure if it's due to using
certain applications or just a matter of waiting some amount of time),
they do work.

In previous versions of Ubuntu or Debian, I've never had this problem
before.

FYI, I've done a "fresh" install of XUbuntu from the Live CD (reusing a
home directory from a bad upgrade to Hardy).

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
