Binary package hint: mlocate

I'm not sure which one of these is the culprit (though I strongly suspect 
MLOCATE when I see the output error message . . .

When i type locate, as user or with sudo, I get the following message:

locate: can not open `/var/lib/mlocate/mlocate.db': No such file or directory
