Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

On Edgy Beta display dimming doesn't work correctly on my thinkpad R60.
Running Dapper the display dimms by 1/7 when i press fn+ dimm-up/dimm-down.
On current edgy beta when I press eg. fn+dimm-down once, while the display is
at it's brightest state (let's say 7/7), the display dimms automatically to 1/7
(lowest brightness) (vice versa also).
Not immidiately but step by step by 1/7 within half a second.

Killing gnome-power-manager solve this problem (the popup showing the
brightness state also no longer appears).
I can dimm by 1/7 pressing fn+dimm-up/dimm-down.

** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
