Binary package hint: gxine
the gxine release 0.5.11 has serious locking problems that make it
impossible to read encrypted dvds (See bug #128864).
After with upstream and the upstream branch, there have been several
commits to improve the locking behaviour. I have rebuild the debian
package on my hardy machine, and found that the new package played dvds
for me without problems.
Since backporting this fix will be tedious (we are talking about race
conditions here), I propose to update to the new upstream release
0.5.901.
