Public bug reported:

I've just installed a fresh install of Hardy Beta. The volume control
icon displays a red error sign and when I click it I get the following
output:

"No volume control GStreamer plugins and/or devices found."

If I got to System->Preferences->Sound there are no devices listed in
the drop down. Normally I have my on board nvidia CK8S sound card listed
as well as the sound device built into my TV card.

This is the (truncated) output of lspci:

00:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: nVidia Corporation nForce3 250Gb AC'97
Audio Controller (rev a1)
02:07.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7134/SAA7135HL Video
Broadcast Decoder (rev 01)

So they are both detected. lsmod doesnt seem to show any sound modules
loaded at all.

     Importance: Undecided
