Since you've obviously done it before, can you try building SVN stable
on Ubuntu to see if it works there? Sebastian Dröge has been pretty
diligent about patching from SVN to fix bugs, so if it works there we
might be able to get this fixed.
If not, maybe the problem is in an underlying library of which OpenSUSE
had a different version.
