Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
This refers to contacts stored in evolution, and shown as reminder in the calender. All the birthdays after 1.1.1970 show up with the right year, but when I change the year before 1970, all people turn 38 this year (2008 - 38 == 1970). So I think there are UNIX timestamps being used, whereas negative dates (before 1.1.1970) turn to 0 (1.1.1970). I am using Ubuntu 7.10 and Evolution 2.12.1.
