Public bug reported:

When I try and play a movie file with either a DTS or Dolby Digital
audio using SPDIF passthrough (either using Mplayer with either the -ac
hwac3 or -ac hwdts swiches, or VLC or GStreamer) I don't get anything
passed through.

At first Dolby Digital (AC3) audio streams were passed through fine when
using Hardy Alpha 6, but an update to Hardy since installing has broken
it completely.

I've tried disabling Pulseaudio, forcing MPlayer to use ALSA with no
joy. Using the built in AC3 and DTS encoders with Mplayer work fine
although this means I can only get stereo downmixed output to my
surround sound amp.

It still doesn't appear to work on Ubuntu 8.04 Beta. I'm unable to try
Ubuntu 7.10 as my system keeps hanging randomly with this version.

My system is a Phenom X4 9600 with SoundBlaster Live 5.1 Digital sound
card using the Coax SPDIF output. Optical Raw & Digital Output are
turned on in the mixer.
