This has happened for the last few versions of Ubuntu.
When I pop in the livecd and boot up, the gnome startup sounds is very
loud on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 9300) - looking at the volume settings
its at 80%. Should the volume really be this loud be default? 50% would
be a good level for me.
