Had same issue after upgrading from Gutsy to Hardy Heron $ sudo sudo: unable to resolve host bronwie <-(this is my pc name on my network)
Looked in /etc/hosts and entry 127.0.1.1 brownie.mshome <-- this was the entry generated by the upgrade I updated the entry to 127.0.1.1 brownie as per instructions on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4508774 Sudo now working correctly. However if I open network manager & add in mshome as my domain (local windows pcs etc.) the host file gets the entry updates again and stops the terminal recognising sudo. I am using Ubuntu 8.04 upgraded from Gutsy. -- konsol sudo can't resolve host https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204824 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
