Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-12-generic
With the latest iwlwifi module, wifi for the Intel pro wireless 3945
doesn't work as it should. I don't use Network Manager (not installed)
but wpa_supplicant to associate to my router. With module 1.1.17kds
found in ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-5-generic, it all works fine. With the
1.2.0 modules, I can associate to WEP networks for a limited time, then
it disconnects and doesn't let me on again. As I use my laptop for
school, I come across different networks, and they all fail one way or
another. At home I have WPA/WPA2 security, at school they use 802.1x
with EAP/TTLS. Both fail to associate correctly. I don't get a signal,
but am associated with the AP. Network traffic doesn't work because of
no signal.
If wanted, I can give both the logs of the -12 and -5 kernel results.
For now, I will only submit the -12 in separate posts.
